To keep us on track, we need your help!

We hope to commence the tour of the UK on Friday 4th March 2011, and it’s a bit far off yet to be asking for sponsors for it.

However, you can help right now!

Here’s how:

We need an awful lot of parts, panels and consumables to complete the restoration; we will find, manufacture or repair as many of these as we can ourselves to keep the cast down. However, doing this takes time and to keep the pace up, we’re asking for companies (classic car specialists, motor factors, auto jumblers, breakers and the like) to donate parts – new or used, we don’t care as long as they are fit for purpose! The charity will benefit considerably from this, as we’ll donate the full purchase price value of any new parts donated, plus gift aid, on completion of the project. For example, a part with a cost price of £40 is donated to us, we then donate the full retail price value of, say, £60 to the charity. Gift Aid adds another £15, so the original donation value of the part is almost doubled and the van’s restoration is also helped along. Anyone with skills that can be applied to the restoration, whatever they may be, will also be welcomed with open arms !

For other companies and individuals not connected to the motor trade, there’s another way to help. Our local Morris Minor Specialist and car accessory store, Leadbetters of Lancashire, has kindly agreed to act as our parts factor. You can telephone the proprietor, the helpful and friendly Stephen, and buy us a part over the phone, from a single nut to a major component. You will find his contact details on the ‘Contact Us’ page. You’ll find a list of the parts we need to get hold of on our ‘Parts List ’ page. Be aware, as we strip the van down and start to investigate, the list is likely to grow!

Companies and businesses making donations are guaranteed a shameless plug on our website! The project is already receiving considerable press interest, so our site is likely to become very prominent in the near future.

Individuals are also welcome to make parts donations, either through Leadbetters or, if you actually have parts you don’t need and want to donate they will be gratefully received! To make donations directly to us, you can contact us via donations@agrandproject.org.uk or by telephone on 07595 728289.
