Ruislip Lido Railway

First special event of the 2009 season - Easter Eggspress - 12th & 13th April

The Ruislip Lido Railway is a miniature (12" gauge) line, based at Ruislip in Middlesex. Ruislip Lido is a former canal reservoir, now one of West London's top beauty spots, and the railway runs for 1¼ miles around its shore. Trains are normally hauled by one of the line's fleet of large diesel locomotives, but on summer Sundays and bank holidays trains may be hauled by the steam engine 'Mad Bess', which is a half-size version of the engine 'Blanche', the latter based on the Ffestiniog Railway in Wales.

The low-level platforms a and catering facilities are easily accessible. Disabled lavatories are available, and adapted rolling stock is available on most service trains.

 
 
FAMILY FACILITIES:
  Baby change facilities are available at the carvery restaurant near to Ruislip Lido station. Plenty of children's gifts are available in the well-stocked gift shop. A beach and water activity area is also located close to Woody Bay station.
 
 
OTHER FACILITIES:

A Gift Shop is open on operating days, and is situated at Woody Bay Station.

 
PUBLIC TRANSPORT CONNECTIONS
 

The nearest National Rail Network station is West Ruislip, situated on the Chiltern Line between High Wycombe and London Marylebone.

The London Underground Central Line shares the above station.
