Penrhyn Castle Industrial Railway Museum
The Penrhyn Castle Industrial Railway Museum provides a fascinating insight into the lost world of the various industrial lines of Wales, with other exhibits from elsewhere in the UK. Several steam engines are housed in the museum, which is located in the old stable block near the castle itself. Notable exhibits include 'Fire Queen' and 'Charles', two very different engines from different eras and of different narrow track gauges. The museum also has some standard gauge steam locomotives, and a very interesting 'rail cycle'! A great day out for all the family, with lots to see and do. While the museum's exhibits are largely non-operational, a miniature railway with steam train rides will be operational on some special events.
