Perrygrove Railway
The Perrygrove Railway is a 15 inch gauge line, located in beautiful Forest of Dean at Coleford near Monmouth. Regular steam trains run on the three-quarter-mile long line between Perrygrove and Oakiron. While the line is only short, on normal operating days passengers can ride as many trains as they like, and visitors can partake in a short treasure hunt as part of their journey, or a longer one undertaken mostly on foot. The railway is relatively new, dating from 1996, and has been designed to appeal to families. In addition to the railway there are many other interesting activities which will appeal to young and old alike; these are detailed below.

| The low level platforms are easily accessible, and adapted rolling stock is available for use by those with limited mobility. The short version of the Treasure Hunt can be undertaken entirely from the train. A disabled lavatory is available at Perrygrove station, and access to the indoor activities and catering facilities is possible by wheelchairs and pushchairs. While some of the woodland paths do have steep and uneven surfaces in places, most of the site is accessible. | ||||

| A baby change facility is available at Perrygrove. Play areas are also available at Perrygrove and Oakiron; there is also an indoor village with secret passages to explore, and NEW FOR 2009, a Treetop adventure. Plenty of children's gifts are available in the well-stocked gift shop; all in all there is plenty to keep families occupied all day! | ||||
